Just a tip. Make sure the flanges are four-bolt. The pics show two-bolt. I purchased a high-flow cat from a Corvette supplier:smash: several years ago and the flanges were two-bolt. I put up with the leaks at the joints for a year before I threw it away.
Like terry said..factory cats can be hollowed out , ummmm, but it is illeagal to do so. And you can tell them that I told you to do it.
anything in side a cat is a restriction . take a metal rod or something that you can hit on ,now knock out everything inside the cat so that you can see thru it. :smash:
Just get a high flow cat from ecklers and stay legal it will flow about as good as true duals while your there get some flow masters or glass packs and you should be happy for a while

79 cats are pellet-type and cannot be "rodded" out like the cell-type.
