Default Fuel Pump Leak

I have Holley fuel pump on my car and it has started to leak. I had to reclock the body on it when I installed it. Now it is leaking fuel. This has been quite a few years since I installed it. Does Holley make a gasket kit or do I have to have a new fuel pump? Has anyone tried to reseal one of these pumps?

Holley Fuel Pump
According to my receipt this is what I have, but I don't think this is the pump that is on my car.

New Holley Fuel Pump
I am pretty sure this is what I have. The only difference is in the gallons per hour as far as I can tell. If I have to reorder a new pump should I go with the one I originally ordered or the one I have been running?

I called Summit and they do not have any info on rebuilding these pumps or gaskets for them. So, I ordered a new pump and a piston stop to ensure my timing pointer is accurate.

Default Vasoline the gasket before retorquing.

I reclocked my Carter street pump and no leaks that i can tell/notice though i haven't look closely at the pump. But it self-regulates well between 6psi to 9psi. I had to thread the screw holes that i wanted for my outlet position as only everyother hole is threaded on the Carter pump body.
But i did use petrolium jelly on the diahram/gasket and used only light torque by feel with a screwdriver.
BTW i do use a recirc from carb back to tank that really helps the press regulation.

Hope this can help. cardo0

Your links do not specify the model.
I have fixed a leak on a Holley chrome fuel pump by adding a rubber gasket/washer to the bottom bolt.

Sorry for the foul up on the links.

I got my pump today from Summit. It is a Holley12-237-11 fuel pump. Just like the one on my vette right now. The thing about the pump that irks me about it I just noticed and never knew this till now.

Not only that but no where on the pump does it say Holley at all. It does have a part # 12-327-11 stamped on it. I do see that Summit sells a housebrand pump that looks very similiar. I think it is a Holley also and the reason for no Holley markings on the pump.

I talked with Summit last night and he seems to think that maybe Holley put the wrong pump in the box. I was going to call Holley today and confer with them and see what their opinion is. I waited on hold for over 20 minutes to talk with someone at Summits Customer service and finally gave up.

I spoke with a Holley Tech just before lunch today and he said that they had got a new vendor for the fuel pumps and he said the new vendor pumps are supposedly better. I told him the new pump does not say Holley anywhere on the pump and he blamed on the new vendor. He recommended that I use the pump and check the flange for the part number. I will check it this afternoon.

Surprise, surprise the new fuel pump does have the part number on the flange. Kind of disappointing that Holley does not have thier name on thier products anymore. I guess I am going to use it. Here is a side by side comparison photo.

Let me rant one more time about this "NEW" fuel pump. I go out and take my leaker off. I reclock the new one to match the old one or so I think. Clean everything up so the so the gasket and sealant can do its job. I mount the pump on the block and crawl under to connect the fuel lines. Sonuva motherless billy goat, I have clocked the new pump wrong because the inlet is against the frame. No problem, I will just reclock it to correct position from under the car. Cool. I get all of the screws out and go to the next position, now the fuel outlet is against the block and will not go on. Off comes the new pump and my car sets on ramps because of a new Korean Supplier is making a better pump!!! I do one more comparison to the old pump and there are 12 positions you can clock the old pump to and only 6 on the new pump. BTW, the new pump is also chrome plated and the gasket and its adhesive don't even come close to sticking to the pump. It hardly even leaves any residue at all. Looks like I have wiped it clean and have not touched it. But the gasket is stuck like glue to the block. Now to call Summit again and stay on hold for another hour.

You're not alone.... I run into this sort of poo all the time. It can be very frustrating. Makes me want to sell both my Vettes & buy a new Z06. Although I really like Holleys product line, they have a habit of ignoring the "meat & potatoes" folk that made them what they are today. I think the enthusiasm for all things mechanical went away with bell-bottoms. LOL

I rebuild TriPower setups and have found it nearly impossible to get the parts I need anymore. So much so that I have been turning down work.... it's just so dang difficult to get a response from them.... no money in it for them.

At one time, Holley would sell parts direct.... and I had a commercial account with them. Now, they won't do business with any but the huge vendors, who won't give you the time of day unless you're placing a huge order.

I just ordered a rebuild kit for a 6211 spreadbore... the official Holley numerical listing shows a different power valve for the front/rear metering blocks, and I still have the original power valves from when I bought the carb brand new.... a 6.5 and a 8.5. The kit (Holley) has two identical power valves (6.5). This is the second Holley kit I bought for this carb... the first one had the wrong PV in it as well. I contacted them about it.... guess what ? No response whatsoever. I guess they just don't care about continuity.

Anyone interested in a package deal on a C2/C3 combo??

I shot an email to Holley the day the new fuel pump came in because it looked so different from the old one. Guess what, I still have not heard from them either. I am thinking I will take off work early tomorrow and make a run to the local hot rod shop and see what they have in stock. Only bad problem with that is its about 50 miles one way from my house. Probably around 80 miles from my work.
