Hi guys,
give me please an advice where I can buy controller assembly for delayed pulse wiper for 1979 Corvette or replacement so that just works.
Thanks for your help.

What is specifically wrong? Do your wipers work at all? Check out the earlier thread (posted yesterday?) on DELAY WIPER NEED HELP for a diagram of the system. Replacement wiper switches are available - I believe at GM replacement parts online, or several other sources.

Wipers on my 1979 Corvette are working except of the highest speed. Delay works also well but problem is that something gets warm in controller assembly and I can smell something is burning. This is the problem I need to solve. I was checking all parts in controller assembly and it seems to be all right, wiper motor is also all right, maybe in function control switch there is a problem?
I am afraid about my beloved Vette so that it might get burned just because such a stupid thing.

I would appreciate every opinion.

Crash I'm pretty sure that the delay for the 79 won't work in an 80. I had this same problem in my 80 (the controller is located in the storage compartment behind the passenger) and the only controller I found was $350 used.
Never could find one new and probably couldn't afford one if I did so I ended up using a bypass jumper from Lectriclimited. It was around $15 and restored my low and high speeds.

Hey Kona,

thank you for your advice. I tried to find thid bypass jumper at www.Lectriclimited.com but could not find. I am kind of confused about those technical terms in English as I am from Europe (Czech republic).
Could you please be more accurate about this bypass jumper? What is its exact name?

Thanks a lot.

Elkej, the windshield wiper relay for the 1979 model should be part number 10018449 it is $11.00 but is sounds to me your wiper switch on the dash is bad and you can get those from any of the Corvette vendors.

Thanks for the info. Kona. My low and high work.....being the whacko I can be, I am trying to restore the intermittent function. Once that is fixed and the clock is converted to quartz, everything will be functioning as if it were 1980 again. There was a guy on here at one time that offered me a rebuilt PCB (the one located in the jack box) for a reasonable price and I of course would have to send him mine so he could rebuild and resell. I was too broke at the time to take advantage of the offer. DOH! I couldn't remember if the 79 and 80 were swappable or not. One day I will have intermittent wipers again. There are so many people out there with this problem, you would think that there is a company out there that could reproduce this animal....they offer just about everything else , so I don't see why this couldn't be recreated.

Is it possible to use the below mentioned parts as a bypass to controler assembly?

VMA7900WW2 $9.00 INTERMITTENT WIPER OVERRIDE JUMPER
HARNESS, Note: Connects to Dash Harness, must be used along with VMA7900WW1 to bypass intermittent wiper controller

VMA7900WW1 $9.00 INTERMITTENT WIPER OVERRIDE JUMPER HARNESS, Note: Connects to Dash Harness, must be used along with VMA7900WW2 to bypass intermittent wiper controller

Sounds right to me but you probably should send them an email and describe the exact symptoms and ask what parts you will need. They are nice people and easy to work wit.
