The Chevy PSM mentions 1 degree as rake angle... Looking at the greenwood cars there seems to be MUCH more rake than that. I't looks to be 3-4 inches over the length of the frame rail between the wheel wells. Some of this looks to be from the smallish diameter tires on the front and the MASSIVE tires on the rear.
I read somewhere that the corvettes in racing trim handled best with 27-28 inch tires...
Are they giving up handling for downforce => traction? It seems to be more pronounced in the later chassis.
I have 26.5 in the front and 27 in the rear. But my cousin stretches them out to 27 and 27.5 so in the perfect range. I also see what your talking about. I assume it is for down force becuase thos ecars are going 160 plus mph.
the front tires on those racers are in the 25" diameter range and the rears in the 26-27 range. That's why the fronts look so small, those wheels are all 16"
