I finally tracked down a vibration I had on my 73 when I installed a tko600 it would start to buzz around 80 and 90 mph,it was driving me crazy, replaced my rear bearings(needed it too) that was'nt it,new halfshafts, also did nothing,
..seen a post here awhile back about the driveshafts not being balanced, that if your driveshaft didnt have a weight on it ,it wasnt balanced...
Well I looked on mine and there was a weight there,so I figured mine was balanced, left it at that ,
Called Kiesler and asked if they had a problem with diveshaft not being balanced right, they didnt really say much but said if I suspect the driveshaft to take it out and have it balanced,so I did and had 2 big weights welded on it when I got it back,.....No more buzz at 80 90mph.......... Now I have to deal with another problem a leaking trans.
Anyone else with this problem? A friend had a similar experience last year with a Keisler driveshaft. I've got one scheduled to be delivered no later than end of this month. The way things are going, I may have to run a bake sale to raise more money for this project....

I don't know where the friendly keisler sales guy is on this but it's a well documented fact that Keisler sent out a lot crap for driveshafts over some period of time. I took the one that they sent me to a professional driveshaft maker and he could only roll his eyes. They should have had a full blown recall but chose to ignore the problem!!
The friendly Keisler guy is likely helping the company move into their new location this weekend. They had a posting about it Friday night or early Saturday morning (when do us Vette people sleep?) Am sure they'll chime in soon as they get the zip code changed on the stationary.

We stand behind what we sell. Just send us the bill for the rebalance. The guys on our customer service line will take care of you. Just give them a call at your convenience.
We did get some improperly balanced driveshafts back in 2005. To make a long story short, there was only a small percentage that were defective, but when you sell as many tranny kits as we do, even a small percentage is several driveshafts.
When we found out there was a problem, Mr. Keisler, who is an engineer, went to the d/s manufacturer and personally checked their equipment. He found a defective part on one of their balancing machines. The company fixed their equipment and put measures into place to prevent future problems.

I know these things happen, and there should have been a recall,Ive had this vibration over a 1 1/2 yrs.as for the leaking trans its the rear tailhousing,I think its getting worse, gets on the exhaust and I hate any oil, fluid smells,
Dont think the vibration had anything to do with the leak I noticed that after the first week ,I dont feel like pulling the trans ,sending it back or trying to fix it myself but I got to do something.
I still like Kiesler product ,working on another vette thats going to need a tko600 would like a t56
It stands to reason that a vibrating driveshaft would help to wear out the rear seal in the transmission. Climb under and see if the rear seal is leaking (it should be slinging some oil across the undercarriage). It also could be that the rear seal was damaged when the driveshaft was removed or reinstalled. If so, it's a pretty easy fix.
