Thank goodness 4 dual spal setup

Yesterday I swapped carbs to an Edlebrock Thunder series AVS, but it was the third carb on the manifold in a week. In one of these swaps, I had loosened the nut holding the wire on to the spal temp switch, in the manifold. Didn't know it and of course the nut came off whle driving.
Yesterday on the new carb's maiden voyage, the car ran hot - 225* or so on the freeway and that was with the tops off, and the air conditioner of course off too. When I got home I found the problem right away (pulled into the drive and didn't hear the Spals running so that was a big clue!) and fixed it.
Today our club had the mountain run and on the way back just now it was hot up there! I wanted to take the tops off but the wife said 'NO' and of course it was all about the Air Conditioner after that.
I'm proud to report that after a hundred mile return trip with the A/C blowing ice cubes, the Spal fans kept the stroker at a MAX of 200* but usually 195. As we climbed hills it would get to 200 then cool back down to 195 on the way back down the hills.
Once again I'm glad as heck that I have the Spals on there. And this weekend I learned taht my car DOES need them, even on the freeway.

Glad to hear everything is working good. Mine is in pieces anyway right now.

and happy!

I ended up putting new spark plug wires on before we left viejas, because I figured I cooked them. Now it's looking like either my timing moved or I've got a lean condition. Sounds a bit lean because it's hesitating and such.

Still some bugs I guess. Monday I'll be on with Edlebrock support about it.
