Default Phase II heads

So the local dealer has some left over G.M. performance parts heads,#12480053. I would like to know if anybody has any experience with these heads. I can get them pretty cheap. My machine shop can put valves, springs, studs, and guide plates in them for a total of about $500.00. That includes the cost of the heads. The rest of my motor: 355, pistons to make 9.5:1 compression with the 64cc heads, Crane 274 cam, roller rockers, Air Gap manifold, and a 650 Speed Demon on top. I would love to hear any input you guys have. If anybody knows if they will work with the rest of the motor or not, you guys will. Thanks in advance. By the way my car is a '76 L-82, 4- speed with 3.70 gears.

Phase II heads: 64 cc chamber, 184 cc intake runner, angle plug heads. casting number is 14011034. Sounds like a good head, with mild porting should support at least 450 hp..

I'm guessing that he means the factory casting is less than perfect, so he'll clean up the ports by hand. I'd see how much more he would want to port the heads a little.

You could get away with a little more compression on than cam

He is afraid of detonation that he has had on several motors with that cam. I'm also thinking of advancing the cam a bit to increase low end. Will that have any effect on compression? Or is that the idea for advancing it, getting the added comp.? I'm not looking for a screamer, just a good stout 325-350 horse street motor. Otherwise, what heads can I get that will fit my bill with a minimum of investment? Thanks
