Did my weekly cruise to the top of our mountain crest last weekend. Got a wave from a red late 70-mid 80's red Alfa Vert, C4 yelloe Vert & a Miata seems us ragtops stick together. Back in town driving home... not a wave from the five Vettes I passed. Just proves... city Vettes are less friendly than country Ragtops.... Go Figure

Vettes generally get respect from knowledgeable guys.
Some car enthusiast guys got stuck w/ economy cars instead of what they wanted. I turned down a free economy car flat & bought an old Chevy. Converted it into a Hot Rod on the first day.
Have seen in the past some Am. cars w/ the back jacked way up & loaded w/ stickers. There is always some who don't have a clue.

I have a soft spot for ricers, the people, not the cars. When I got my first car in '83 it was a 1970 Monte Carlo w/350 4bbl $200, after that it was a great condition 1970 442 w/455 $1900, after I totaled that car at EXACTLY 6:00pm new years eve 1986 I bought a '77 trans Am w/400 4sp. My point is back then you could get nice cars that made great hot rods for very little money. What would you buy if you were a teenager today? Don't forget about getting insurance for your 17 year old self.
I'm just happy that the "car guy" isn't a dying breed. I have a friend with a VW gti and another with a turbo charged Eclipse, both VERY fun cars to drive.

Hey i used to be a ricer....I had a hopped up Honda CRX-SI Back in 85 ( I had the first Black one in GA)..........I had 4 Fart pipe Monzas out the back of her and a chip in her and a header!!!!.........I designed the C-5 exhaust befor it was stock.......My little Si would fly...I hat to admit it ..but it would probably take my 74 vette 0 to 60.........Oh well I sure do look better doing it!!!
