Default Need tips on installing shroud

It's been a while since I've done this, but I cant get my plastic radiator shroud installed with the radiator up in place.

dont tell me I have to pull the radiator out again

would pulling the water pump be easier? should I jack up the car to get weight off the a arms?

Corz, IMO reguardless of the year, I fount it SO much easier to cut the shroud on each side, horizontally to make a top and bottom 1/2, you will need pop the fan off at any rate, then it thing slides/hooks in place easy....to hold it back together, I put two tabs of aluminum bar on the lower 1/2 and slide the upper into place, all it does is hold it in line sufficient to function well.....

Just did this yesterday on my 79. If you have A/C remove the belt. Remove the fan and fan clutch assembly. Slide the shroud in, extra hands are helpful here, make sure you locate the bottom shroud tabs in the slots in the radiator support. Mind the radiator cooling fins. Reinstall fan/clutch and check for fan to shroud clearance. Hope that helps!

The shroud is the number one reason that I installed electric fans. 10 minutes to pull the radiator and fans now.
