Took the vette out for a run today almost 60* in NJ. Anyway the car was running great. On my way home I was very low on gas so I stopped by a no name gas station & put $20 in the tank. Now the idle is racing at 2200 and will not drop down which sucks the engine will not shut off due to bad runon. I have to put it in gear & let the clutch out until it stalls & turn the key off. What happened?

Were you under the hood at all when you filled up???? did you by chance knock a vacuum line off?
Hey Jim,
It's probably not related to the gas you used. If idle is as high as 2200 rpm and your linkage is not jambed up I'd look for a large vacuum leak first.
Good luck,
