Vinyl T-tops!
This Forum is just wonderful! I posted a WTB several weeks ago in the C3 Parts area for vinyl t-tops. A person whose handle I do not remember e-mailed. I wanted the non-velcro type that apparently are no longer available. Well here they are :D. They have the proper latches for 1978-82. No velcro. They weigh <10 lbs with carrying pouch. And they fold up into the pouch measuring 18" by 24". What a wonderful idea. Thanks Patrick .

Ok Paul, that is WAY TOO COOL!!! Where did you get those? I WANT SOME!!
Nobody makes tops like that anymore? I see a buisness opportunity here. Those things should sell like hotcakes (and we all know how fast anf furious hotcakes sell!!).

I want a set as well. They look as if they would hold up to Hwy. speed and I don't think they can leak anymore then what I have

That was exactly my reaction today when I received them. There is a real business opportunity for these units with the original-type fasteners. I understand that the velcro Rain Coats are not the best. That begs the question who originally produced these units and why did they fail? There is no product/compnay name on them!

Looks good Paul. Have you tried Washing the car with them yet?
Would be great if you were out somewhere and it started to rain. Quick and easy and don't take up much space.

Paul you say they're vinyl...not canvas.
They do look different.
The Rain-Coat brand I bought and sent back because of the velcro were canvas.
Maybe Ed Dinapoli will reply and tell us if his are canvas or vinyl.
I'd like either canvas or vinyl with locking mechanisms vs that awful velcro fasteners with the newer Rain Coats.

WOW! Just what I'm looking for. :D Of course, I would be happier than he!! if I could just find a set of fiberglass tops for the 81'. Can't seem to find any for the price range I'm looking in. I guess that means I'm just below market level, huh?

Joe,
They are vinyl not canvass. And they fit just like normal T-tops. I am amazed! And abviously delighted with this purchase. Forum members will ask where can I get a set? I do not know. There are no marks on these tops. But they are a high-quality product.

Yes, that is why I bought them. A little bit of wet security in case of rain. I have been rained on once in the last 10 years. So dragging those fibreglass tops around was a pain for cruise nights. These tops are a blessing ;) .

Paul: Where in Ontario are you? If you ever make a break for the border and find yourself in Michigan, let me know. I'd love to check these things out in person.

Re: Vinyl T-tops! (norville)
I definitely would be interested in a set. I wonder if they'll fit into the storage compartment on my '80. I just don't feel terribly safe leaving the normal T-Tops sitting in the back if I go into a store or something, so I usually leave them in the garage.
then I worry too much about rain.
That would be perfect rain protection!
too

Chris,
There really is a commercial opportunity here. I like you do not like to go out without the t-tops in case of rain. And I do not like to leave the t-tops in the back of the car when in the local supermarket. So take them with you. The pic shows how they fold up into a carrying bag of <10lbs. I do not know why the original manufacturer did not make a go of it, but this product is top-notch! Love 'em :yesnod:
