Adjusting the rocker arms on my 73 with a 350. It has a new 70 LT-1 solid lifter cam (Crane Reproduction) and Comp Cams Magnum roller tip rocker arms. The spec is:
Intake = .020
Exhaust = .025
Then per Crane subtract .006 if adjusting them cold (iron block with aluminum heads).
This is my first solid lifter cam so it is probably right, but the rocker arms sure seem to be too loose?
Probably alright if they just "seem" loose. Most solid's feel losser than what they actually are especially with roller tip rockers. They also rattle quite a bit if you aren't used to dealing with them. If you still have doubts, check them when they're hot. Just bring the car up to temp, shut off and check. The small amount of heat loss from that little bit of time will be negligible in relation to the lash.
