Default Nordskog Stinks !!!

I Have Nordskog Digital Gauges In My 79 L-82. They Look Great But The Readings Are All Over The Place. I Have Ordered New Temperature Sending Units From Nordskrooge To Try And Correct This Problem. I Have Also Tried To Contact Nordskrooge Tech Support Via The Links On Their Website - The Links Do Not Work - Just Like The Gauges!!! How Can I Recommend A Product Like This To My Fellow Corvette Lovers? No Technical Support = No Confidence In Nordskrooge Products!

Way To Go Nordskrooge !!!

I Am Ready To Take These Digital Gauges Out Of My Corvette And Put Them Where They Really Belong - In The Damned Dumpster!

I finally got a reply from Nordskog, though I had to be a squeaky wheel to get it. I will keep you all up to date on my progress (or lack of) in resolving these issues.

Well what was the response? Did they offer to make it right, send new gauges, tell you to get screwed? I, like others, appreciate the heads up when something doesn't do what it's supposed to. I can't speak for others on this but I also like to know how they are handling it, you stated you had to be a squeaky wheel, so what was there response? I like to know the WHOLE story so I can derive my own opinion/conclusion on whether or not to do business with a company.

I went with Stewart Warner and had a problem with night time Illumination. I called to ask why and they said we'll have the engineering manager call you right back as soon as he is free.

I got a call back later that day, had a good discussion with the guy and he sent me green LED lighting upgrades for all of the head units for free.

Customer Service... I think so!!

The Nordskog panels came with the car. I guess I'll have to work with them if I can. They DO look good though....

I am still in the communications process with Nordskog at this time. As soon as there is a conclusion (good or bad) to this situation I will report the results.

I finally got around to getting the Nordskog oil and temperature sending units installed. I followed the directions, checked all connections twice and got pretty much the same results as before. I checked the engine coolant temperature at the gooseneck and at the head where the sending unit is located with an I.R. temperature gun, the gooseneck read about 115 degrees and approximately 160 degrees at the head, meanwhile the temperature gauge is reporting 215 degrees. Not good, and the oil temperature gauge is still starting out in the negative numbers.
I have sent another e-mail to Nordskog and will let you all know what happens next (In the exciting adventures of....).

I had the same problem with Cyberdyne, they suggested a noise filter to cut down on ignition noise, and a new wire for the ground to the gauges because of a floating ground. Put on at the battery.

Here is whatI put on the hot line to ingition and gauges.
MSD Noise Filters/Noise Capacitor, MSD 8830

After the filter and new wire the problem was gone.

Not a fan of digital gauges, myself. Give me mechanical sweeps, any day.

Thanks, 1BAD80, I am removing the gauge cluster and speedo/tach unit. Nordskog has agreed to take a look at the units for possible repair. I will run a dedicated ground and install a noise suppressor during the reinstallation process as per your suggestion. While the Nordskog gauges are out for repair I am going to (temporarily) install some stock gauges.
