x-fire air intake mods??

x-fire air intake mods??
I have an 82 cross fire with a moderately modified engine. My problem is that I need more air than the stock air cleaner assembly can provide. Has anyone made a custom air intake or ram air setup for their cross fire that works? I have already removed the ram air door in the hood which helped out significantly. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I think there are open element setups for those things, shouldn't be too hard to find. There are a couple cross-fire junkies on here, so they may have something to help. I do know for a fact, however, that I've seen open-element L83s. Good luck with your motor, nice to see someone letting the good old "red headed stepchild" stretch its legs.

I have been looking forever for one! I can't find them anywhere.
I have an 82 vette too, and I would love a better intake system.
However.... don't you think they put the ram air door there for a reason?
I hope ya don't get alot of dirt and grime in your intake.
