I had read about some vacuum hose suppliers were better than others mainly because they provided the proper thickness of the rubber tubing that resulted in better fitting. However I can't find any info on this on here after doing a search.
Who do you guys recommend?
I tried to check out DR. Rebuid's web site but it looks like some legal dispute is going on with them and ZIP.
I did one of mine with Dr Rebuild and it came out great, and I am going to do my other car also, good instructions and straight forward. It helps when installing these hoses to apply a little Vaseline when pulling hoses through rubber grommets also. If you do order from Dr Rebuild get the laminated vacuum diagram for your year, nice reference tool.
Dr Rebuild is #1 in my book for ALL Vacuum hose systems (I replaced them all on my '80 and all from Dr Rebuild). Performance (idle, off idle and WOT) smoothed considerably after I replaced the rotted/cracked/broken vacuum components that were original to my L48. Those plastic vacuum connectors DO degrade and the stuff from the parts stores are a very cheap imitation (not viable IMOO).
