Is this the correct Hydraboost unit to use on my 71?
The guy says THIS IS A NEW GM HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER PART#15192199.FITS 95-99 OLD STYLE CHEV/GMC TRUCKS SUBURBANS AND TAHOE/YUKON.I ASSUME THIS FITS TRUCKS WITH DIESEL MOTORS BEING THAT IS A HYDRULIC ASSIST.CHECK DEALER TO VERIFY APPLICATION
Isn't there a company who sells the whole hydroboost kit? Sometimes it is better to spend the money and get a known commodity than to dig into the junkyard and be at risk. Best of luck, jclgodale.

Thanks breezer but I'm a "hands on" kinda guy. I like doing things myself, even if it takes some searching for parts. That's why I bought a project car to begin with and not a "completed the way the previous owner wanted it" car.
I suppose that some people like saving money and others like saving time. It's all a matter of preference. I remember when I did not have much money to spend on the vette and I know how it feels. I hope you find the parts and finish it without much trouble, jcgodale.
He doesn't understand the joys of doing it yourself apparently Jclgodale3 Sometimes it's not about how much or little it costs as the joy of a job well done right?
Back to the post, that looks like the same hydroboost unit I got off of a '96 3500 diesel, should just need to be modified like in Norvals posts on the subject, as long as you have the short bore master cylinder

Thanks 76. It's all about doing it yourself...whether you have the money or not. I did search Norval's posts but couldn't find the unit he used or the actual installation procedure. Got a link?

I don't think there is a difference between the vavle its self I think the only difference is in the mounting plate, two or four bolts. I think I remember Norval talking about this a while back. There is a detailed installation write-up on the corvettefaq wiki site.

PS: I found a site that has the adapters cheap,if you have not purchased them allready. Drop me a PM.

This is the best one to get. The mounting flange is small & flat, therefore it will fit with no mods. The 2 stud model also has 4 holes, but the plate needs cut down & 2 new holes drilled. I know on the larger plate the itslef must be rotated 180 degrees to mount. I don't know if this true on the one you have. Noval will know. I would like to know how much you paid for that unit. You can pm me if you don't want it public.
