Re "fake facts." OK, I am not embarrassed by the pic that I posted. It is the real thing. That was my first attempt at the track in my bone stock, 22-year-old 1979 L-82. As I said earlier, Road&Track did 15.6/91; I did 15.9/86. For an old, untouched car I do not consider that too shabby. Besides, I rather enjoyed it :yesnod:.
There was no mention of an AC Cobra. He wrote "70 Shelby Cobra" --> a Mustang.
I know a guy with an original GT500. I have not yet scored a test drive. Ugh. From what he tells me she is a stormer, though.

Yo... that "CarSource" is wrong. They were not called "Shelby Cobra GT500"
They meant to say Shelby GT500, I assure you that.
Check any books. Internet facts arent always true.
Once i repair my scanner, I will scan some pictures and replicas of actual documents so you can see them.
They were NO Shelby Cobras in 1970. I am 110% sure of that.
13.8@104 with a slipping clutch. New QuarterMaster clutch fitted last last weekend so with a bit of luck and a good day looking to run low 13`s. That`ll be quick enough to keep most things behind me on over here.

Fact: in 1970 Ford/Shelby produced the Shelby Mustang Cobra (2 versions). It was the last year, and was eclipsed by the (less expensive but just as fast) Mach 1 Mustang. It was a "Shelby" automobile, did not say Ford on it.
