Well, I clicked on 14-15 but it may be more like 15-16. I think it's so borderline 15 that it depends alot on weather and track conditions. We only have an 1/8th mile track so that's what I'm going by. My best so far is 9.33 but that was at 80 degrees with about 65% humidity. Unfortunately it's down for repairs so I don't know what I would have run tonight (70 with 70%) but it probably wouldn't have been too much lower. I'll be installing headers and true dual exhaust this winter so that should hopefully ensure the 14-15 range. Yes, I know, it's slow.
More than 50% under 14 Seconds!. The Winter 1990 issue of Corvette Restorer magazine contained a list of the fastest American production cars. This was compiled by the Northern California NCRS Chapter from published road tests. Five (5) cars had a 1/4 mile ET under 14 seconds
87 Buick Regal (V6 Turbo) 13.5 sec
68 Dodge Charger (426 Hemi) 13.5 sec
86 Calloway 'Vette (Twin Turbo) 13.7 sec
70 Shelby Cobra (289) 13.7 sec
70 Chevelle SS (454 LS6) 13.8 sec
Some other fast Vettes in the 14s:
62 327 FI 14.0 sec
if thats what a stock (225hp engine) will do what will a car with 350 hp? my dad knows a little more then i do and he says 400hp or slightly less. imho maybe 360?? what will a car do with that much?

Shelby Cobra.... 1970?!?!? I am sorry, but the Last "Shelby" (which wasn't the actual name)... the last AC Cobra. AC Coming from AC Bristol, the english aluminum car that Carrol Shelby bought to put the engines in. The Last AC Cobra was in 1967. 1964 were the first cobras with a few 260s. Then in 65 and 66, Shelby put in the mustang's 289 High Performance engine. Then in 67, Shelby had to expand the body to put, in my opinion, the greatest engine ever made, the 427. This was the last year (except for in the 80's when they found a few bodys lying around and made some more).
Bottom line is I just dont like fake facts. People read this forum to find truth, and when people put up false facts, it kind of gets on my nerves. I am guessing either you read it wrong, or the NCRS is wrong. I am a AC Cobra fan, and that is my dream car (I DO own a vette however). I am going to own a Cobra someday.... but it will be a replica. On a Corvette or Jaguar frame, and with a 427..... I can't wait.....
Let's see....not running that means no time. No estimates allowed. :D :D
Me? WAAAAY too fast. I'm guessing low 12's high 11's because of tire spin. Did I say no estimates allowed? Scratch what I said about my time. Guess I'll have to go to the track and find out. I'm only gonna have one shot at it....no roll bar, so I'll have to be perfect.
I voted in the 10-11 because I think I will have nothng but wheel spin. On paper it should go faster but i am also a cautious shifter and would only granny shift.

nunus79 - Why would Ganey pick other? He's not running any faster than 11's that's for sure. See if you can find my choice....
Merlin
"Other" is a perfect Ganey answer. He is not one to tell much about his particular setup as would a master fisherman not tell others where he fishes. He probably runs a Crane cam! :D j/k
On the other hand, if you detune your engine enough, you could probably run awesome ETs. I watch guys in Hawaii running 8s with carbureted small blocks "all motor". Seeing that, hearing about what you got, & then doing the math, yes, you should be classified as "other"!

There was no mention of an AC Cobra. He wrote "70 Shelby Cobra" --> a Mustang.
I know a guy with an original GT500. I have not yet scored a test drive. Ugh. From what he tells me she is a stormer, though.
