Hey guys,
Can somebody suggest a good method to reglue the bladder back to the tank? Any special kind of glue? The only place that has come loose is the top. Sides and bottom are OK. Thanks
TJ
the bladder is NOT glued in the tank, and is a little smaller than the tank. if you fill it up it will expand to its limit inside the tank so you are not losing volume, but if you glue it in the tank you will cause the tank to rust through and it will deteriorate the bladder at the glue points causing it to tear and leak. So, if you plan on keeping it in there dont touch it, if not then you need to clean and seal the inside of the tank or dont store it with less than a half tank for too long so it dont rust out the seam, it wont rust where the gas is touching it.
I have mine out right now and not putting it back in. Just FYI, of all the research I have done on the bladder its purpose seems to be to keep the tank from rusting through and leaking and has nothing to do with "explosion" protection that I could find with the exception of some peoples opinions of why they were put in. If someone has some technical documentation from the manufacturer that points to explosion protection I would like to see it so I can kick myself.
