Under 69 steering column

Under 69 steering column

At the dash under the steering column ther are 2 vacunm overide switches, in the center is a electrical switch with a round black ****, my question is what is it and what does it do ? Also my overide switches dont move is this a common problem? Thanks

i think the **** is an override for the wipers so you can get them to stay out on the windshield to change the blades.

you could probably spray the swithches with some oil to free them up.

Not sure if its the same as the switches on the 72 but here is what mine are:

left **** is the headlamp cover override
middle **** is the wiper override
right **** is the wiper cover override

I bought an owners manual off ebay for .99 cents and its been a wealth of info on a lot of stuff I didnt know.

and one more note,
The vacuum overrides pull down...

the wiper override ( center) rotates about 90 degrees

Thanks a bunch . My overides dont move and I am just slowly looking into my poblems before I find the answers. Will pump you guys for more advice when time comes. Thanks again. Al
