This last weekend I had the pleasure to get to meet Lars and have him look at my carb. Problem was that my problem was not with the carb (althought I am sure a rebuild will help things greatly) but with my fuel supply. Lars fashioned a fuel pressure gage and installed it on the car. The fuel pressure would go up to 3-4 psi and then drop off to zero in a matter of seconds. The carb would burn all the fuel and then the car would die. I had been trying to track down the problem for a while now and thought that the carb was gummed up. I replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, and the hose from the hard line to the pump already, so the only thing left was the rear hoses from the tank to the hard lines or something in the tank. We dropped the tank and found the problem. The tank had been removed and redone a couple years ago and when they reinstalled it, they crossed the fuel line and the return line over the tank. When the tank was reinstalled, it crimped the supply line. The car had been driven quite a bit since the tank was redone, so the problem was not caught at first. Over the years, the hose had deteriorated to a point that it was very soft and would collapse when the engine needed fuel.
Just thought that I would share that so if you have a fuel supply problem that is driving you mad, its one more thing to check.
Thanks for all of your help Lars! You went above and beyond what most folks would.
I think I'm packing my bags and moving to Colorado. Right next door to LARS. I could always use this kind of help and the move and expenses would probably pay itself off within weeks with the mistakes I made by learning and burning my bank account.

Dropping the tank was a blast! Sorry it distracted us from tuning time on the car. Let me know when you get your emissions done and we'll then set the car up to run like it should...
