Hello,
Here is my weekly update. The Holley 4175 is not going to fit in the stock location. The front fuel bowl hits the EGR valve and will not sit on the intake manifold properly so that I can bolt it down.
This photo was taken before I took off the carb and removed the 1/2 inch spacer. Now I think I know why they put it there.
So after that work, I had to reinstall it back to non stock condition. I then played with the timing according to Lars paper because I could not get any farther with my carb issue.
Not sure what your local emissions laws are, but there are different EGR valve configurations (no calibration guarantee) and there are spacers for the EGR valve as well.
I replaced the Q-Jet on my Silverado with a 4175, and I had to use a 80 Vette EGR valve, and modify (grind) the base of the valve to make the 4175 fit.
Thanks for the input. I could take the EGR valve off for a little while. While I dont have to have the car smog checked, I am supposed to keep the original equipment smog stuff intact. I can always take it off so that I can check something though.
