Might be a bad idea. You could get into trouble if you don't watch the temp gauge....

I agree with brett about possible getting in troubl by forgetting to turn on the fan switch. I bought a kit at autozone to turn on my electric fan it cost around $20 dollars and is real easy to hook up it has a temp sensor that attaches thru your radiator and just a few wires thru a fenderwell mounted relay to turn the fan on.

Pretty easy to hook up with a relay and temp sensor and then you don't have to worry about forgetting to flip the switch.

How could we possibly answer that? Only you know your ability to watch (baby-sit) the temp gauge.

I know Walter went to school here at Jackson State. That's a good trivia question: What is Walter Peyton's hometown?

Default Switch & Relay

If you are going to hard wire the fans-DO NOT just run the switch for power. Every switch I have seen will NOT handle the current for the fan(s) and a relay is needed. I have seen switches catch on fire! Use the switch JUST to trigger the relay.
If you need a wiring diagram I can e-mail you one.

Try this
http://www.speedspecialty.com/store/...uct=mfanswitch

I had this on my 97 Z28. You can manually override fan control either high or low speed. With switch off the computer still controlls fans.

Edit
Never mind, thought you had an LT1 engine.
