hey guys..i'm having mixed reviews on wich way to hook up my fans...but one guy told me that he bypassed all the relays n sensors n has it hooked up to a toggle switch in the cockpit n he only puts the fans on while city driving...on the parkway he keeps them off......is this a good idea.....would realy appreciate your help......thanx...
I agree with brett about possible getting in troubl by forgetting to turn on the fan switch. I bought a kit at autozone to turn on my electric fan it cost around $20 dollars and is real easy to hook up it has a temp sensor that attaches thru your radiator and just a few wires thru a fenderwell mounted relay to turn the fan on.

thats how mine is hooked up. i only turn it on in traffic
If you are going to hard wire the fans-DO NOT just run the switch for power. Every switch I have seen will NOT handle the current for the fan(s) and a relay is needed. I have seen switches catch on fire! Use the switch JUST to trigger the relay.
If you need a wiring diagram I can e-mail you one.
