Default Boy am I dumb

Hopefully someone can solve this for me.
Put tranny in and was screwing with the clutch stuff,
and guess whats missing off my 400 block.
The hole to screw in the pivot ball or what ever you want to call it.
Am hoping someone has had to do this and give me some
great advice.

Thanks

I just went through this, my new race motor was built from a "lightened" Dart little M and sure enough someone lightened the boss for the stud right off...You have (maybe) two choices, either drill and tap the block (I would have if I could have) or go to Scroggins-Dickey and buy a bolt on bracket...my bracket unfortunately took some screwing around with as it was bent wrong and by the time I had it rebent the way I wanted it there was no room for a nut on the back side of the ball stud so my ball stud got tig welded in...so far so good though!!

Here's how I did it on my 400 block...

First, find the pad. There it is...right near that other thing...

Now drill a 27/64in hole.

Tap the hole with a 1/2-13NC die. (The tap and die are sold in kits and can be purchased at places like Home Depot.)

Insert the clutch pivot and tighten it.

And now.... (Actual results may vary...)

Bellhousing....BB has the oil filter on the right side. I would think the sb has it on the right as well, else the clutch linkeage will hit the filter

SB and BB have the filter on drivers side. The bracket bolts to the bellhousing.

Great "how to", Z-Man! DO NOT forget that last step, it's crucial
If there's no boss, get the bracket.

Or, go with hydraulic throwout bearing and get rid of the mechanical linkage totally.

It's on the other side if you are standing in front of the car facing it, right?

I think SDP sells that in two lengths to cover various cars - just be sure to tell them you are dealing with a Corvette...
