Default SB guys running Hooker super comps ?

I was running just the comps on mine with plenty of clearance. Going to a 383 I upgraded to Super Comps and now it looks like the header outlet is very close to the floor board. Once I put on the reducer it is going to be right close to or bumping the floor. Anyone else have these and is it that close. What did you do to rectify the situation. The headers are Jet Hot coated so I don't want to go cutting the collecters.

I've got the same problem with my car, and I'm trying to figure out what to do about it. I plan on taking it to an exhaust shop in the next few weeks, and see if they can do anything about it. Fortunately mine are just painted, so if they need to cut, I'll let them.

Definitely interested in any other responses that are posted.

I have the Super Comps on mine, but I may not be much help since they came on the car when I bought it. All I know is there are no clearance issues at all, and I haven't seen anywhere where they have been bent or dinged to clear anything.

After looking at it I think the best thing to do is to take the reducer and cut a V into it. Take the V out and push it together and weld up the seam. This will point it down slightly and then they can bend the rest of the pipe to mate to the rest of the system. I will not do this. I'll take it to the exhaust shop and have them do it but this seems to be the most logical without cutting into the headers.
