I have a set of Scat rods in mine now. 4340 I beams with 7/16 bolts. They say they are good to 700 HP. Have not run it yet but my engine builder swears by them. He has them running in a 383 that turns 7600 rpm with 2 seasons on them with no failures.

4340 1/4" stroke Crank and H beam rods in a big block here. Missed a shift or two, I'm guessing they saw mid 6500 rpm. It's my understanding that there are only a few foundry’s that manufacture the blanks. It's the vendors like Eagle and Scat that buy these blanks from those foundry’s that perform the final machining and hardening treatments.
