I have a 74 Coupe w/ medium saddle interior.
The top dash pad appears to be darker in color than the rest of the interior. Is this color difference due to 27 years of sunlight or is it in fact a different shade?
Incidently, I've re-dyed virtually every piece of my interior ( except the dash pad and t-top liners ) and the results are spectacular. I bought the dye from Mid-America.
I have a 76 with the same kind of interior scheme. I have been told that many of the mid years did indeed have a darker dash pad than door panels, seats, dash panels, etc. My interior is Smoke Grey with a dark grey dash pad.
Hi Stewart
I've replaced many parts in the interior of my 74 and the color varies even among the aftermarket manufacturers. Dye from different manufacturers can also vary in color. Your best bet to get everything to match is to dye everything with paint from one manufacturer and then stick with that paint in the future.
I repainted much of my interior also, & like yours my dash is darker in color than the rest of the interior. My color & year are also the same as yours, must be a common thing :bb
I would have to go check my books for sure, but I think around 1976 the Corvette top dash was darker than the lower dash panels, especially on the lighter color schemes.
My 74 Roadster cam from factory as bright yellow with neutral interior.....But Everything is the exact sam color in mine.....This should help...Obviously she is not yellow anymore.....
