Anyone know where I can buy a water outlet/thermostat housing for a 76 350? I've checked all my parts books, Chevrolet and parts stores. This neck has two bolt holes on the same plain, no taps for other connections, and triangle shaped indentations next to the bolt holes (one next to one bolt hole and two next to the other). The outlet is angled at about a 40 degree angle and goes towards the left side of the radiator.

No, I looked too when I put the stroker in mine. I wound up putting sensors in the intake manifold instead.
If you're referring to a thermostat housing, you can pick one up at Autozone for like $10. I got a nice chrome one that seems pretty solid. Fits my 76 nicely. Good luck.

Not going to put the sensors in the housing, where he wants them.
I'll try autozone, but I'd still like to find one with the indentations like the original. I'd already checked Paragon who had up to like 74 and later than 78.
The cast iron neck with the two tapped connections is what the dealership sells as original as well as some of the other parts stores. The original is cast aluminum with no taps.
The original 76 housing had an EFE vacuum switch in it on both, L-48 and L-82 engines. I remember seeing thermostat housings with the bosses w/o tapped holes, but they were on earlier engines, 73 or 74.
Just to keep the records straight. I'm the original owner of this late year 76. The housing I described is the one that came with the car, no change has been made. There are no taps.

That's not surprising. Back in the mid 70's, Engineering lost some of their control of their designs to the bean counters. The 76 Vette was almost a dumping ground for excess inventory, hence the rubber steering wheel, early and late radiators, and other subtle differences. In 77, GM was sued for putting Chevy engines in Oldsmobiles. By 78, the transformation of one body style to build a Chevy, a Buick, a Pontiac, an Oldsmobile and sometimes a Cadillac was in place. I was a Chevy mechanic at the time, and under the hood, they all looked the same.
