74 A3 starter wiring
i'm taking one of those hi torque aftermarket starters off of my 74 A3 small block and putting on the original starter. my problem is that they are wired differently. the hi torque one had the large wire and one small wire under the same terminal and the other small wire to a little stake-on terminal. the original starter has the large terminal but also has TWO small terminals marked R and S. my problem is that i dont know which of the small wires goes to which of the small terminals (R and S). iv'e read the service manual and it explains what each does but doesn't explain how to test them to tell which is which. any sugestions?

i have a red and a green, so someone must have changed them over the years. i'm planning to get my wife to work the ignition switch when she gets home and put that hot wire on the S terminal since the service manual shows one of the two switched by the ignition. the other wire is shown going to the coil but i lose it in the harness. any better sugestions?
