To get a good ground on the C3s first clean the frame at the bolt area.
Then install in this order next to the frame. Star washer, Cable end, flat washer and then the bolt. The trick to a good ground is the star washer. Many novice mechanics will forget or will just leave this off.

Another area for proper ground is at the front of the car. There is a short ground cable that runs from the bottom of the frame side motor mount location to the top of the L-shape bracket that supports the starter motor. Make sure both of these connections have the star washer also.

Let us know how you fair.
Good Luck
Steve
