Steering column shaft size?

The steering shaft sticking out of the steering column is 1 inch diameter and has 48 serrations. The detachable steering column flange attaches to it. There is a flexible coupling attached to the gear that bolts to the column flange. There is no universal joint in the C3 steering system.

Thanks, Jim. This is on my rack and pinion conversion I'll hit the grooves with a small file tomorrow.
