Rear End Help
Took my car out for a ride today and it feels like during acceleration and deaceleration that the rear end is shifting or steering the rear of the car. (81 model). It is worse when the torque converter is locked. Is this a spider gear issue or is something loose? Anyone had this problem?? 
Going to crawl under it tommorrow and just wandered where to start looking??

Lots of recent topics on this lately. Do a quick search for more info. It could be trailing arm bushings, rear bearings, work side yokes, etc. Could also be that your diff fluid needs to be changed as well. Make sure you put the additive in for the posi.

All the above could be wrong. Have you changed the bushings and had the rear aligned lately? Too many possibilities to give a definative guess. If your car has never had the trailing arm bushings, strut rod bushings, front differential bushing and shocks replaced; I would consider doing that and having it aligned. You won't believe how loose the rear suspension gets with those bushings worn!
