Why does everyone need to write a small reply to a poll. It really slows down my computer. Couldn't the forum make it so you can only vote in a poll. If you feel strongly about the polls topic then start a new thread.

A better question would be - Why all the polls in the first place. Some seem to be useless. Guess they do it because they can....

The polls aren't hurting anything and neither are the responses to them. Don't click on the topics with polls and you won't have to worry about it. :yesnod:

I am not complaining about the polls. The replies may not be hurting anything with your computer but with mine the post wont come up sometimes. So I do sort of have to worry about it. I want to participate in the poll but if there are 50 replies with signatures my computer will either take forever or not work at all. My home computer works fine but at work there may be five people watching big brother that I am sharing my bandwidth with. :clown

When folks on the forum trade info back and forth something great happens(we learn). When folks on the forum do a poll the info generated is useless(we gain nothing and waste our time).IMHO :yesnod:

seems like most of the polls are silly bandwidth wasters to me. First impressions are that half of them are polls about other polls, or polls about people who dont respond to polls, or polls about which poll is better.

are the other boards being buried in polls?
we could take a poll to find out, and then poll everyone if they believed the results of that poll.
aybe we should take a poll to see if we should allow polls about polls.

Fortunately Dellanex is right, you can avoid polls altogether by simply not viewing them, for the most part they arent worth viewing.

...It really slows down my computer.
I haven't written comments to any polls but I can sympathize with your slow load times. I used to use a 56K modem :smash: but now I'm using a digital cable modem from home and everything runs at light speed :D now. I sometimes forget not everyone has access to digital systems.
Out of respect for those who have slower modems I've trimmed my "sig" back somewhat so it will take a little less time to load.
