Here is a list of the ATEC tools for the 700R4.... I am working on a 4L60E which requires different tools than the 4L60. Which ones in this list do I absolutely HAVE to buy to do the overhaul? I realize if the governor bore is shot I need the T-1017, but assume it's just a "average" overhaul... any experts on-board?

IF all you doing is a soft parts overhaul, none of them, but you have to get inventive with your thinking as to how to git her dun with your well equipt normal shop tools...I use 6" C clamps on my bench to do the clutch packs with, for instance,

How about the teflon seal installer/resizers? They claim the job is nearly impossible to do without the tool & avoid damaging the seals?

What about the pump alignment band? How do you center it without the tool?

Ditto the front pump remover & endplay tool... how do you do that job without the tool?

What do you use to remove/install the extension housing bushing?
I have tools/drivers for the C6, AOD, T350/400 bushing.... but none for the 4L60E.

Can you replace the bearing seats without their special driver (& not damage ther seats) ?

I already bought $5.00 worth of PVC fittings to install the front & rear seals, so I can skip those two drivers. Tried the front seal with a hammer & it didn't go too well... the housing is not perfectly round.... seal would not go in without damage.

I'll brave it without the tools if it can be done... so that's the deal? None of them?
