They have some sweet dual snorkel systems at this place : Ram Air Box but I have no idea if they fit.

Hey torqvette, would you do me a favor and send a pic of the underside of your air filter top/lid. I have had trouble getting the K&N ones clearing my choke tower. Just wondering how thick that one is, and how flat it is.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is there an open element unit that I can use with my existing K&N filter in my OEM air cleaner '80 L48? Wouldn't mind experimenting with an open element assembly but don't want to buy ANOTHER K&N filter to go with it. I suppose I'd need something that I can adapt to my passenger PCV pipe that pulls fumes from the crankcase.

This is what I came up with for an air cleaner and to solve the cold air issue. It's an Edelbrock triangular unit that I built an aluminum housing around, added a rubber seal that seals to the hood to keep out hot engine air and fabricated a snorkel that bolts to the radiator support for the fresh air. I sectioned the foam piece bettween the core support and the radiator to accommodate the snorkel. That accordion piece is from a C4 ZR1. It all fits under the stock LT1 hood and it just might fit under the small block hood as well.

Very trick, I'm impressed.

My Mighty Demon has no choke tower. I'll take a pic later...

Great setup! But, this is how I get into trouble! Back in October, I just needed to replace my master cylinder. Well, that lead to new rotors, calipers, installing a composite monospring and new adjustable shocks. (Long story, but the rotors and calipers are on temporary hold - whew!)
