Cold Air
In my never ending search for cold intake air, I came across an air cleaner lid from my buddy's '82 Trans Am.
Right now I am running an open element 14X3 with a 7/8" drop base, only because a dual snorkle filter will not fit - too high.
The lid will fit my dual snorkle and give me the hood clearance I need, but I will have to use a 12X3 filter. Will this be enough air flow to take care of my 383 (see signature)? The dual snorkle has 2 - 6"X1 3/4" openings. Picks up cold air from above the radiator and from?. The 'vette is a '76 and, I believe the dual snorkle is from a later model 'vette.
My only concern is, will I get enough air flow.
Naturally, the lid will sit lower to the carb opening. Will this have an effect on flow/performance?
