750 to 800 cfm depending on which Q-Jet you are referring to.

If you stay with a QuadraJet, you'll want 750. If you go Holley or Edelbrock (Carter), you will probably want 600 or 650 cfm.

The q-jet is technically a variable cfm carburetor so you can't compare it directly to a holley or carter (this is why they were on big blocks and small blocks). The pre-1975 q-jets are 750cfm the post-1975 q-jets are 795 cfm.

You'll also find some goofy exceptions to this rule of thumb. Buick had 800 cfm Quadrajets in 1972 for their 455s (I actually need one of these for my Pontiac 455 if someone has one for sale).

i'm hoping that once i get done cleaning my Q and assemble it, it'll work....not sure if the rods need to be changed or what...... and size/etc..... all the internals look fine...but then again i'm not sure what i'm looking for either.......

u think there's a qjet rebuild kit available?.... or do i have to get a general rebuild kit?

What year q-jet? pre-1975 q-jets are easier to get rods for than late model ones. If it's a late model you'll be hard put to find rods. Jets are easy to come by. There are rebuild kits out there, too. Google "quadrajet rebuild kit" and you'll find some.

There are Qjet rebuild kits, but not all created equal. Last one I rebuilt, I got OEM kit - was Delco , probably Delphi now.

There used to be a guy on here who would rebuild QJets, I think his name is Swen, or something like that. He went into hiding for a year. Anyone remember who I'm talking about?

Well considering lars is taking a hiatus from rebuilding carbs for about a year, he'd probably be the best bet.
