Default 1971 #'s ???

I was checking out my car's #'s with the 71 Vette Registry, and I had a couple of questions.

The casting # is 3963512, which is a '71 454ci...the engine date code is L109...I think. What the h=ll does that mean?? I thought it was supposed to be a 2 symbol code???

Also, the engine ID # is 10909CPH but it looks to good to be original, how can you tell if it is a re-stamp?? It is supposed to be a 365hp/454ci car, but some of this stuff is

The build date for the car is D30 on the trim tag, so that should mean Nov. 30, 1970...right??

Can anyone make heads or tails of this for me. I guess I shouldn't worry, it isn't an NCRS car, but I just want to know what I have for future reference.

As always...any help is greatly appreciated!!!

D30 code should be December, 30, 1970.
L109 should be December 10. Check the 9 to ensure it isn't a zero.
10909CPH is probably T 0909CPH since the T stands for the Tonawanda (NY) engine assembly pant. All Corvette big blocks were produced at Tonawanda. The 0909 would be September 9. There was a work stoppage at St. Louis from about mid-September 1970 until about the end of November. It's possible cars slated for September production showing September engine assembly dates were not actually produced until late November or December. My fiancee's '71 smallblock was scheduled for September production and has the dates to match, however her car was not assembled until December 1st.
