I was wondering if its possible to put a LS7 in a 76. I was looking to see if it is possible. I looked into it alot, and it looks fairly easy. Any thoughts about this?
I was thinking about doing this beause it has great MPG, and not "that" expensive... I got alot of money saved up for my car, and I am looking at all my options for my summer project....
Since there are guys who have done LS1 swaps, an LS7 swap would be pretty much the same thing.
My opinion - GO FOR IT!! I would never put a modern EFI motor into cars like these just as a matter of personal taste, but the LS7 is one seriously badass engine. C6 Z06s with just headers and a tune have putting down very close to 500RWHP
Look around a little. I've read that there was testing on a carbed LS7, so it might be offered. If you've really got deep pockets, World Products will sell you a 454SBC for about $10k

Which is about $4,000 less than an LS7 will set you back...

You can make that world products engine a lil cheaper if you just buy their parts and put it together yourself and then put a Holley, Edelbrock, or Accel efi system on it. The 10k 454SBC they sell comes with the carb and everything.
Who sells the World Products 454 in parts? I was unable to find a good source for the components when it first came out. All I could find was the whole "package"... which I don't want/need.
Got any links?
On the LS7... I can see no reason why it can't be done. You could put a BB Ford in there if you really wanted to.

Are you talking about the modern C6 LS7 or the big block version?
You can order an LS7 from Jegs a lot cheaper than the one on e-bay. Jegs is also listing the World Casting Warhawk LS7X block and heads. I don't know how much it would be to build one up yet
