ever since i lost the spare tire and carrier ive had a bug for a project. being a south florida ac craving heat eliminating freak this is what im thinking. a horizontally mounted "sandwich " of coolers back there. 12x12 or so with an electric fan either pushing through or pulling through with air flow from top to bottom, water would come from the loop that used to feed heater core, oil would come from a under the oil filter adaptor and trans in series with existing trans cooler. all on a 180 thermostat. i have most of the parts to do this and a local tractor supply shop that charges very little for custom hydrolic hoses and fittings. i can do this entire project for much less than a new dewitts or becool radiator and i like the idea of all the extra volume of fluids PRO's,CON's ???
there's not enough volume in a 5/8 hose from the water pump to cool your engine, maybe a few degrees,i guess no more.there's plenty of room for a tranny cooler in front of the rad.you don't need an oil cooler.
Sorry for my response being negative, but it is far too many unnesscessary lines running near the ground for me.
Dude...stop sniffing the nitrous! That's for the patients...
Seriously, though...remote radiators are nothing new. The GT40 (and its replicas), Pantera, certain Porsches and a few others I can't think of right now (Noble, McLaren?) are rear/mid-engined with the radiator out front.
However...I doubt there would be enough air-flow in the location you are suggesting. There is a lot of wasted space underneath the rear deck vents. If you could direct the air down those vents, you might be on to something.
