Hi! I have learnt in my new Amcar periodic about a Canadian anti rust treatment service station chain. The name is Rust Check. It is new here in Norway. Have somebody some experience with them. Any tests/ certificates?. This sommer i must make some rust treatment for my`73 baby and i do not want to harm her!
Hi, greetings from Canada. There are dozens of such chains across Canada, most/all of them clean the underneath of the car and then just spray used oil everywhere, this is surprisingly good rust treatment if done every year from buying the car.
Problem is most of them hardly ever see cars with full-frames like ours, you might go talk to them and assure that they'll use a flexible wand to get as much of the INSIDE of the frame rails as they can.
If you want more than just oil treatment you might want to look into a Zeibart type place, they try a little harder to coat inside surfaces, even drilling then filling small holes in doors, fenders, etc then spraying in their rust-proofing chemical stuff (not just oil).
Oil places are 50-70 bucks here, the Zeibart-ish ones are more like a couple hundred. If you go the oil route, you have to park your car somewhere you don't care about for a week or more, the oil pretty much just pours out for a while.
I have had this coating put on my 74. There's 2 kind, regular (thin) and anti-drip (heavy). First I had the guy apply thin one so it soaks into all small areas, then spray the ant-drip on. This was 2 years ago, I am happy with it.
The guys in the garage are known with US classic cars. They not use used oil but only Rust Check products. Probably it is not wax or oil but some chemical fluid. They have some stuff for treatment in and outside the frame. Is their firma such known like they write it on their netside? Specially in Canada?
