Could someone put a grocery list of things needed to do coil overs? I could probably get my cousin to fabricate any parts that aren't readily available.
Twin Turbo and Norval,
I check clearances and found that I only had about 5/8 clearance between the top of my shaved rubber bumper and frame. This is due to the lowered front end that I have as per my previous post.
I cut it again to match the length of shaft showing on my shock. I now have 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 compression travel before hitting the bumper and the shock bottoms.
With your front suspension setups, how much vertical travel do you have before your rubber bumper hits the frame?
Your tips have headed me in the right direction to solve a problem that has puzzled me for months.

Thanks.
I don't know how much I have because I can't judge ride height as it is but certianly more than 2,5" I don't have a bumpstop on the frame, only on the shock itself.
I run a bump stop on the lower a arms but not the one in the top in the frame. I get an honest 7 inches of wheel travel this way.
The upper a arm bottoms on the frame just before the shock bottoms.
In the compressed state the rubber bumper is hard up against the frame again just before the shock bottoms.
It is important to protect the shock.
As for running position until the car is back down on the ground I can't take a measurement .
Like I said before a 5 inch travel shock is what you need. The 7 inch travel shock is too long unless you do a totally custom mounting position like Twin Turbo
Mine are very close to the stock location, just not the stock mounts.
? rear rod exposed?? In that pic of the cage they're just hanging there, the rear susp. is not installed so they have extended to max length and the adjuster collar is all the way at the bottom, that was done so I could check full bump without having to compress the spring, if the other pic you can see the susp. near full bump and the adjuster all the way at the bottom of the shock.
