Yes, I have it on my TH400 in whatever the highest setting is and it has worked well, I noticed a difference when I had a tight torque converter, but now its so loose you seldom feel it shift..lol
I'm considering it and would like to get your feedback.
Good modification or not?.....
Thanks.
Yes... I believe it's one of the easiest and least expensive ways there is to wake up the performance of an automatic. I did this in the past on a number of Fords I have owned but have never done it on a Chevy. The results were immediate and very impressive. (My 289 Falcon could chirp the tires easily in 3rd gear.) It is an easy modification that any handy wrench can accomplish.
I also chose those times to install a drain plug in the trans pan. Find an area of the pan that will not interfere with the valve body or filter and weld a 3/8" thick 1" square plate inside the pan. Then drill and tap it for a standard drain plug and life will get much easier...
I am planning on doing the drain plug at the same time.
I am somewhat concerned about the increased pressure the transmission will generate, however, the trans is relatively new. Ony 1000 miles on it to date.
