Default TKO 600 and Scattershield

Looking for a scattershield - either Lakewood or Mcleod for my TKO 600. Can anyone share the part # they used for either of these and their satisfaction with the fit.

Thanks!

I am using the Lakewood on mine. Just make sure you dial it in. The Lakewoods seem to need this more than the others but it was not a problem dialing mine in. I did have to cut off a bracket when I got mine new but nothing a sawzall could not take care of.

Part no was Lak-15000

Thanks for the Part #. So, what was the bracket hitting that you had to remove?

Working on mine now- Lakewood 15000. It required the 0.007" offset dowels for radial alignment. The Lakewood alignment procedure doesn't address checking for parallelism which probably should also be done. Mine checked out within 0.0015" for parallelism which is O.K. per the Centerforce procedure.
I cut off that bracket on the left side also. Don't know what it's for but it's not required. Installation procedure doesn't refer to it so I don't know why they put it on.

Stock fork but an adjustable ball. I think this is due more to the clutch than the bell housing.

I am using 1/2 of it. I cut it in half and I use the lower half to protest the flywheel from road debris. If I used the whole thing it was going to throw the linkage off even further. I could have done it but I'm not worried about the block. Just my feet.

I am just not pictureing this. So there is no block plate between the bellhousiing and block, it is only attached to bottom of the bellhousing kinda like the original inspection shield/cover ?

How thick is the block plate ? And if you don't use it doesn't that bring the end of the tranny input shaft further into the pilot bearing bearing ? Maybe too close and their could be some interference ?

They also sell these bellhousings without the block plate and they are not SFI approved. They are black, but I wonder if they come with something to block off the bottom to keep debris out or if you are supposed to use the original shield/cover ?

I measured and remeasured the old and new bellhousing. The Lakewood is actually longer than the old 621 bellhousing by quite a bit. So without the plate it is still a little longer than the 621 bellhousing.

I just remeasured the Lakewood bellhousing. It's 6 5/16" deep which is the same as my 1975 OEM bellhousing. The blockplate is 1/8 or 5/32" thick so I assume there's enough slack in the driveshaft to accomodate this.
