has any one used the kickdown switch made by b&m or lokar. I need a kickdown and want to know which one to get. Also where does it attach to the transmission. I dont have a manual so dont tell me to check the manual. The guys that built my motor also did the tranny and did not even install it because they said i did not need it with my 3000 stall. I took the factory one off the gas pedal since they did not even mess with it, and i also took it out of the wiring when i redid the wiring. So which one is the one to go with.
I'm confused you took it off the stock pedal and removed the wiring, but want to put it on the transmission?
I think the answer to your question is put it back.
Wiring is very simple on these. Pink wire to pedal switch, orange wire from switch to terminal on side of transmission. I don't see putting it in the engine compartment if you don't have to.
If I have misunderstood your question, let me know.
Does anybody read anymore I dont have an AIM manual. The rednecks that took me to the cleaners on this motor and tranny ripped the wires out so I took the original one off the pedal it was bad anyway. I am Looking at the LOKAR or B&M kits since i dont want to mess with the pedal under the dash. the LOKAR and B&M kit are electric but just hook up to the carb. I was wanting to know if anyone used them. Again READ I DONT HAVE AN AIM MANUAL. Sorry to be a smart *** but i thought i was clear in the original post.

I've worked with the B&M switch, but I haven't seen a switch made by Lokar - I've seen their kickdown cables, but not an electric switch system. The B&M unit is designed to interface with the stock GM throttle cable bracket, but I've never had a car that the switch would bolt up to: I've always ended up fabricating a bracket system for the switch to work. Count on doing a little bracket fab work in order to get it working. If the Lokar switch is more of a universal mount, it may be the way to go - do you have a link or photo of that system? I agree: You really do need a kickdown switch do get the tranny working right - the 3K converter is no substitute for a good downshift.

You can buy the stock switch for $27 (see below) and put it under the dash in the stock location, use the stock wiring, not clutter up underhood with more wiring, and be done with it. That's what I would do in your situation. Stock switch has 2 screws that hold it to the accelerator pedal bracket. It has a connector with an orange and a pink wire. Did your engine installers hack up underdash too?
Or you can spend $43 from Summit, make a bracket, add wiring and it will work too.

Thanks Lars here is the link to the lokar http://www.lokar.com/interior_pages/...400kd_coil.jpg the bracket is not a problem i have a lokar throttle cable and bracket already so either way i think that the b&m or the lokar would work.
you could mount a micro switch to the carb that would send power to the transmission switch when you went full throttle . You can get the switch at SECO in Huntsville .

Why don't you have an AIM manual? That is kinda what my post was about. If you don't have one you really should get one. There is a lot of good information in them. Also, why don't you want to go back to the original switch?
