Who here has pulled apart and rebuilt their 9 leaf rear spring? I disassembled mine several weeks ago to sandblast, repaint and reassemble. I purchased 8 spring liners to go between the springs, but I can only find 7 old liners now that I'm ready to put it back together. Did I lose one? Or was there only 7 liners to begin with? If so, which leaves didn't have one? Can anyone help?
Yes, I know that I should have taken a picture at the time that I took it apart, and I thought that I had, but I can't find any now.

There are only 7 liners. There is no liner in between the short flat and long arched leafs.
If you feel compelled to grease the liners and you have the older rubber ones, DON'T USE LUCAS OIL GREASE. I called their support line to check if it would ruin the rubber and they swore that it wouldn't. Guess what happened. Now, they won't return my calls...
Thank you. At least I know that I'm not losing my mind. Now what will I do with one extra liner.....

Where did you buy your liners from? About how much did they cost? I obviously need some new ones now... I heard a pretty good idea from a post I made a while back; someone cut up their kid's old plastic snow sled and used that in between the leafs.
zip sells the plastic liners. I used the excess to cut one for the top short metal piece as well. I didn't lube them, maybe I should have. Most auto parts stores now sell tubes of lithium grease. Maybe that will work without eating at the poly??
