Installed rebuilt TA's from VanSteel, passenger side went together perfectly. Putting the caliper on the drivers side, the rotor refuses to turn once the caliper is tighted down.
I have checked and double check the caliper to make sure the pistons were not sticking. The outter pistons are compressed all the way, brake pad has compressed pistons as much as it can. It appears the caliper is not centered on the rotor meaning the inner pistons are extended more than outter (if that makes sense).

Just curious, how is the trailing arm lined up in the pocket? Did you put the shims back in? Is it to one side or is it back in the pocket with the same shims on both sides of the trailing arms?

The shims have nothing to do with the caliper as it bolts to the TA. But to answer your question yes the shims are in, put in same amount as I took out.
Do you have praking brakes? If so check to make sure they are not binding. I had a similar problem with my '69 with new rear rotors and I had to have them turned to accept the new parking brake shoes.

I have an aftermarket caliper on one side. It's just a tad longer than the original. When I tightened it down, it crimped against the parking brake flange-which pressed against the back side of the rotor.
Didn't prevent the rotor from turning in my case, but made a strong scraping sound when I rolled on the wheels the first time. Was difficult to see, since it's on the back side of the rotor, and there's only a small width to peek through...especially when it was mounted.
Check to see if the flang is pressed in a bit around the brake caliper area. I had to have my son turn the wheels from the other side, while I peeked in at the rotor before I saw the difference in width.
I have just finished installing VanSteel's set of Force 10 calipers on my vette. They give you a set of shims with the calipers......... so I checked the stock calipers before I pulled them off and found the rotors were not centered (and even) to begin with ! When I bolted the rear one on, they hit the rotor.......... so I had to add a couple of shims on every one ! Hopefully all you need to do is make sure the calipers are centered over the rotors ! Good luck Rick
