And NO.
the fibre optic cable mounts into the rear of the sealed beam with the electrical connections. On a sealed beam there is a clear section inbetween the connectors which the fibre optic can "see" and the light is then transmitted to the console indicators. H4 halogens do not have the clear section on the rear of the bulb for light to pass. If you get the Halogen lights with a provision for a parking bulb you may be able to manufacture a mount for the fibre in that position instead.

That's actually the question I was asking - I know someone has to have done something like this or knows of a halogen bulb with a big enough tit so the optic boot can fit on it.

Disagree. i put a set of halogen replacement bulbs from atuozone in my 68 and my fiber optics work just fine.... No theory, no guesses, it works.
Sweethence, can you describe the halogens you put in? If they are the H4 style, they have a separate bulb with a sealed bottom.Light cannot get to the optic fibre.
The only way they can work is if they are a sealed beam replacement halogen, which we cannot get in Australia. I have never even heard of a sealed beam halogen lamp.

RHD 68 these are a SYLVANIA/VALUCRAFT Halogen Headlight. they are a one piece self contained bulb assembly for both low and High beam. (not the two piece kind).. I forget the part number from autozone, but i can look it up if you like. Sorry they dont have em down under, maybe you can order a them online

No problem, wasnt like i tried to do this by the way, I just needed a new headlight one day, Tried the halogen on one side, it was so much better went right back and replaced them all. just happen to notice the fiber optics still worked
Tried my parts store and he called his expert, the expert is into classic american muscle as well.
He knows of the "Halogen Sealed Beam" and it was never sold here. He also thinks they were unpopular in the states due to the replacement cost.

Dont know how popular they are overall, but for the 7 dollars I love em significant improvement over the old style
