Default Strange electrical anomaly

I am sort of confused here. After using the cig. lighter, power to the locks, radio, ineterior lights, and lighter died. I pulled the fuse and all looks good, I replaced it anyway but still nothing. The odd part is, I can get the power locks to actuate using the alarm button on the key FOB. If I use the actual door switches I get nothing. I also noticed that power to my radio was cycling on and off, very quickly.....more of just a quick blink from it's face plate about once a second. It is all quite odd to me. Anybody else know where I might look next to sort this out?

Have you looked at the grounds?
Did you perform any maintenance on the car before this happened?

Hey man.. Don't mess with electricals..
Get yourself a Wiring diagram and make sure all connections are where theyre supposed to be.. or have your motor shop run a diagnostic to find out why...

Nope, it just sort of happened. I haven't done anything to the car in months other than put gas in it and drive. It almost seems like there is a power distribution point somewhere that has given up the ghost.

Have you looked at the grounds or, has recent work been done?

Later,

Sweet, it is a start. That is where things seemed to get funky....after using the thing to light a cigar. Probably the 2nd time since I have owned it, that the lighter has been used. If I get this sorted out, I won't make that mistake again.

As for the grounds, where are all of 'em located? That will be a good thing to go over to I would presume.

It has been a bad week for the Vette. The electrical thing happened Friday afternoon....later that afternoon the car got pegged by a tire that sheered off of an F-350 causing a crack in the right front fender. And, to add insult to injury, the rear end is howling to the tune of big money to repair.

my 72 doesn't have the newer options, but I had about the same problems, my radio was doing the same thing. it turned out to be a combination of a loose battery ground cable and almost dead battery, terry
