New parts for C3's??????? [POLL FREE TOPIC:)]
I have a contact in the manufacturing business and was checking to see what was involved in making a repro door/lock button for the 68's...I later noticed a topic "Do vendors monitor the forum". I noticed there was some more items that had been overlooked...Which brings me to my point...What items are needed that are not made anymore or were just never made??? Please give me some input...

Shoulder belt retainers for the 1969 models that mount on the top edge of the seat back. Another one year only device I believe.

Another rare item: The plastic vent that goes in the upper rear driver's side qtr panel for the rear window defroster option for '69s. I can't even find a decent used one.
And still another is the white plastic 5 port vacuum washer pump that fed the windshield and headlight washers and mounts on top of the wiper motor.

Recently discontinued by GM is the shift plate console for '81's. (Probably for other years also) I finally found a source with his last one in stock, and even then I had to cut the holes for the windows, etc.

I had trouble finding a boomerang ("V") shield, and an exhaust center hanger for automatic car w/ 2.5" pipes.
Also would love to find a source for decent interior parts... The seat backs I got aren't even close, and I may even put my cracked and scratched old ones back...

Mack,
I recently saw an add in one of the 'vette rags that 76-78 (I think) were now being produced. There were some posts about it here on the forum a couple of months ago. Quanta the guys that advertise in the NCRS driveline were advertising them. I checked their website, but they had nothing on the board about it at that time. Quanta Products
I was wrong I checked the website and they are for 75-77, sorry you 78-82 guys.

The left to right hood latch wire that runs under the hood on the firewall for a '77...according to Mid America this was a 77 only thing, and the idea was "so bad they don't even make reproductions". Maybe everyone with a 77 has gone through the seized wire and broken mounts...And I was told they never made repoductions, so apparently there are only a little under 50,000 of these things out there...(less cus mine is broken, and the other people w/broken ones have already gotten up the ones that work in wrecked cars)

I was reading about a guy with a 65 bigblock looking for a fuel filter - they dont make them any more! Even Paragon uses a different fuel filter and puts adaptors on it and sells it as the 65 replacement filter.... pretty pathetic! MJ

Tony... have you posted this thread in other generation forums? It's a great thread and should generate lots of ideas for opportunities for manufacturers.

Front grills for 70-72. GM stopped production about 6 months ago. Had to hunt for one last month. They are in demand.

Rear sway bar and end links plus bushings for all BB cars.Should be 9/16"
O.D. as originals.Very hard to find these. Plenty of them available aftermarket
but they are not like originals and give trouble.
